"That sounds like it'll be fun." Tait kept her attention directed at the cat sleeping in her lap, patting Fai with long, even strokes. "Just tell them straight up that you want to move out because it's no fun living so closely with a couple." she said bluntly, making Dillon smile dryly. "Don't let them get the first word in either, if you let them start then they'll just get more and more carried away and it'll turn into something huge..."

"You've been through his before?" Dillon asked. He would have been amused if he wasn't dreading the coming fight so much.

"A few times." she looked at him for a moment and then shrugged. "They will always make it more difficult than it should be. People who aren't antisocial don't understand why someone would rather live alone even if it seems to them like it makes everything else so much more difficult." with that she un-paused the program and settled down with her head resting on her folded arm and knee. He watched her for a moment, deep in thought with unclear messages in his mind before Jack started crying again and his attention was pulled back to the show.

They were able to waste another two hours when she slyly introduced him to a website J J Abrams had started between seasons three and four which led on for five chapters about another side of the LOST story. He was instantly drawn in by the story of the man who’d been dating one of the flight attendants who had been on flight 815, especially since half the sight were treasure hunts and brain teasers. Tait had already completed the site and was good at letting him work everything out by himself except for snickering when he went especially too far wrong with a thought.

Soon though there weren’t any excuses for him to stay any longer and he headed back to face the music. Tait had left him with a few more suggestions for what he could say and when he actually faced Sidney and Natasha it wasn’t nearly as bad as he had been expecting. Maybe they had simply calmed down a lot in his extended time away or maybe he did actually make a few good points… but within only a few minutes they had finally nodded and the subject had changed to instead what they were going to have for dinner.

As he went to sleep he thought more about the strange girl he had been warned against, someone who he felt so relaxed with, who spoke so plainly and yet… he couldn’t quite put his finger on the words that could describe the connection he felt with her. He didn’t exactly think it was attraction, it felt unlike anything he’d heard before… and yet, it felt like it had to be something so close to that… just slightly different, but what could that be?

He had absolutely, positively not a single idea at all.
