My texting ~policy~

So I've noticed quite a few comments on my posts lately asking if people can add text to my icons. Obviously, I can't stop you from doing it and I'm not going to go psycho bitch on you if you do, I would just really prefer it if you didn't. I purposely do not add text to the majority of my icons because I think that text is the lazy way out and ( Read more... )

I think you took their question about text the wrong way:

The fact that they asked means they fully recognize your right as an artist to not have text added. They were just trying to find out your view on the matter; some people care alot if text is added, some don't. We just need an anwer one way or another so we can adhere to your wishes!

I realize that; I wanted to make a post explaining clearly that I don't use text and my reasoning behind it instead of repeating it twelve times to different people.

I totally understand where you're coming from, but text could be a form of artistic expression as well. I see your icons as more of a photograph (and so I <3 it textless), but some people use their icons as a sort of canvas for their own crazy effects and whatnot. In their case, adding text could emphasize a certain look or feel. Like, maybe text that's off centre or slightly skewed to emphasis a feeling of disorder. Yanno?
