My texting ~policy~
So I've noticed quite a few comments on my posts lately asking if people can add text to my icons. Obviously, I can't stop you from doing it and I'm not going to go psycho bitch on you if you do, I would just really prefer it if you didn't. I purposely do not add text to the majority of my icons because I think that text is the lazy way out and just because the tool is there doesn't necessarily mean you have to use it. In my personal opinion, coloring, cropping, and the placement of your subject can tell so much more about an icon than words can. This is only my view of the subject though, and they are my icons, so if you don't agree with it and you want text on your icons, 99% of Livejournal icon-makers add text to their icons, so go use those. I'm not saying that I will never, ever add text to an icon ( example), I'm just saying that in most of my icon posts, the majority of the icons will not have text.
I'm not trying to sound like one of those elitist icon makers that think their shit is the equivalent of the work of god, I'm just expressing my personal view about text on icons. So please, don't add text to my icons if it is not already on there. I mean seriously, do you think you need words to say what's going on in this certain icon?
Feel free to bitch at me, agree with me, state your opinion, whatever. I won't get all pissy with you if you disagree with me.
