...because you know you're all interested ;p I'm going to list 100-21 first, with comments on some of the songs (particularly on the songs that invoked a WTF reaction), followed by what I speculated would make the top 20, which will be followed by the actual top 20 (because I guessed 75% of them - clearly I am a music geek, if the fact that I'm

This country seems to have a collective hard-on for Jeff Buckley (and, as you can tell by looking at the list, skinny white males who wail and/or yell about their epic manpain), so if there was going to be a version of Hallelujah on the list, it was always going to be his. And I thought you'd like the Muse inclusion ;)
Sorry I wasn't on IM last night. Shortly after I posted this my computer had a breakdown of epic proportions, and I had to reboot the twat. I'm more than willing to be dragged over there now, if you're on. In fact, I don't even think there would be all that much dragging involved.

Thanks for the list bb, I think I'll use it to d/l more songs. Yep I'm hooked.
AND YAY FOR JOY DIVISON!!!
ps - care to explain your reaction to the Blink 182 song? Not worthy of the TOP 100?

As for the Blink 182 song, it's not as though I hate it as such, but songs that are so much better than that one could have been in that spot. It was more of a "what the fuck is that doing here?" reaction than anything else.
AND YES, HELL FUCKING YEAH FOR JOY DIVISION!!!

That's kinda what I thought you meant. Blink 182 don't reallly strike me as dudes who made ground breaking stuff. lol

Also, Killing In The Name Of - Rage Against The Machine. OH YEAH BABY. That would have to be my surprise ranking. I love that song so much but would never have expected it to be at #2. Or in fact in the top ten.

Killing in The Name Of's ranking shocked the hell out of me as well, but in a good way. I may or may not have been listening to that very song throughout the course of this morning.

Also, "Killing In The Name Of" is definitely one of Simm!Master's songs.
And Control always breaks my heart. It remains the only movie that has made me cry while at a cinema. Sure the emotionally manipulative. use of "Atmosphere" doesn't help, but the way Sam Riley conveys Ian's mental deterioration so well, so much so that you could really feel that he felt that killing himself was the only way to escape the mess that was his brain, it always tears me up inside (which is why I shouldn't watch that movie as much as I do ;p) It hurts, but I love that it has that emotional impact.
