I agree with all your thoughts! Oh my god the "Tyler" bit made me freak the fuck out, but I'm sure that most LoM fans had a pretty similar reaction. It was his FACE. nkhntehlkr, I am so wrong but, oh man, how much do I want more "my picky-pain DI bf dieddddd" angst from Gene? A surprising amount, that's how much.
Also, it seems to me that they're really mirroring Gene and Sam's relationship with Gene and Alex's, like, deliberately. Hmm.
Hey, if wanting dead boyfriend angst from Gene is wrong, then I don't want to be right. I had to pause after the Tyler bit, just because I was freaking out a little too much, and then Gene's reaction to hearing his name had me fighting off more Gene/Sam manpain fic bunnies.
I noticed the mirroring of the Sam/Gene relationship to Gene/Alex (and hell, there was even a bit of Sam/Annie in there when they played their music over a Gene/Alex scene). It's because Gene is alledgedly in lust with Alex, and we all know he was at it with Sam ;P
Hmmm. Me thinks I might actually like series two, so maybe I will get this when it becomes available on DVD for me. :)
Oh, the thing about Ray: it's not a good thing, but it makes things so much easier for me as a writer now for the sequel I'm writing to my Love on Mars fic. ^_^ The Chris and Shaz part is very sweet!
I'm surprised how much I'm liking the second series. I pretty much watched the first series for Gene alone, but now it's becoming a pretty awesome show in it's own right (even though it's largely helped by the fact that they are incorporating a lot of the darkness of LoM into it).
I'm actually excited about the Ray thing. It means he is no longer a version of Gene, without his code of ethics, but more of a character in his own right. Plus, I kind of can't wait to see Gene deck him like Sam did in episode 1.7.
Hello! Aren't Chris/Shaz the most adorable pairing ever. I usually can't stand adorable pairings, but they seem to transcend my usual hatred. I think it's because I have always adored Chris, and it's so awesome to see him happy! *is a sap*
The shot of Gene holding a baby is hilarious, because the expression on his face suggests he's not quite sure what to do with it.
