I was always going to do an A2A reaction post, but I felt compelled to also include pictures. Those who've seen the episode probably know why...

I've heard him been described as St. Michael, the Grim Reaper and so many other things that I couldn't help but giggle when it was denied

that line made me giggle too; even though i'm the one who actually wrote the post saying that if he IS a judeo-christian figure, he's obvs saint michael. i loved the line, though, because it means the writers have been visiting the chatrooms. :)

and that pic of chris going 'TA-DA!' needs to be made into an icon. several icons, in fact. i'm counting on fandom to come up with at least three wallpapers by the next episode.

There's this one forum I go to where it seems to be a challenge to come up with the most cracked theory as to what Gene actually is in the LoM/A2A verse, and it really is fun just to pick the most random figure with only the slightest correlation with Gene Hunt and convince others that Gene is in fact that figure. Although, honestly, I'm happy to call him a sex god and leave it at that.

The TA-DA cap really does need to be made into an icon, or even just snippets of that scene in an animated icon. I'm not choosy...

I think all the stuff they set up there was cool. If it gets people talking and putting forth crackpot theories, you know it's interesting. OMG, WHAT IF IT IS THE GUV IN A COMA?!?

I really like how things have been set-up for further speculation as well. I never really got the chance to do that with LoM, since I was spoiled fairly early on, so I'm enjoying foing it with A2A. And, just because, OMG, WHAT IF IT'S THE GUV'S EVIL TWIN WITH AN EYEPATCH AND A MOUSTACHE THAT'S IN A COMA? ;P

I seriously loved this ep, so glad its back!

I was reading an article somewhere the other day and the producers/writers/whoever it was, was saying that they thought the ending of the show would be talked about for years. That they told the cast and the cast were blown away and really excited about it. I can't think of anything though, that hasn't already been done that would be talked about for months let alone years. The coma thing -maybe- but I don't know. It feels too obvious.

I think this ep has to be one of my favourites. there was a certain darkness to it that reminded me of LoM, and yet it retained the campiness that makes it distinctly A2A.

As for the ending, I have no idea what they will actually do, but I'm confident that it will be talked about for years. After all, they took the most obvious route with Sam (him being in a coma) and the way they twisted that ending still has a lot of people talking. I'm just enjoying the ride to the ending at the moment.

You know, I don't think I could ever find Chris attractive, just because I don't think I could ever not think of him as an adorable little div who I just want to ruffle the hair of. *is weird*

ok mine:

obvious first: that stripping scene was brilliant... I can't afford to download the whole episode (I streamed) but if I could get my hands on that snippet for iconing *sighs* and Shaz's reaction was just lovely, she is awesome, he is awesome and together they are just so awesome.

Now meaty stuff...

Hyde-stripper.... reckon she's Jackie Queen's daughter? That was my thought.
Also I was slightly disapointed that Gene didn't flinch at the mention of Hyde or show any variation of epic/concealed man-pain. *is also sad little sam/gene shipper*

and er were could they have tried a little harder to drop the hint that Gene is bitter that his wife cheated on him? thus driving him into Sam's bedThe guy in a coma? My current theory is that he has ties to Alex's world and the Gene's world (e.g. 70's through to 80's) Because we know that whoever is taunting Alex about the future and how she doesn't belong in Gene's world is actually corporeal there because Gene held the note from him and the guy ( ... )

What sort of iconing do you want to do with that scene? If you want to make an animated one, I could make a .GIF file of that scene and upload it for you to use at your disposal, if that would help (I would mkae the animated icon for you, but I don't have a lot of patience for actual animated scene icons and they always turn out shite). As for Shaz/Chris, they are just pure love. Even though Sam/Gene are still my A2A OTP (denial is a powerful coping mechanism), I do have a soft spot for those two ( ... )
