Two completely different issues, but i shall voice my opinions on both....

I very rarely go to Starbucks. However this city tends to ALWAYS have some sort of FREE Starbucks promotion going on, so i take advantage of it when i can. I received a $5 Starbucks gift card the other day on my way to work, and decided to grab myself a venti Carmel Apple ( Read more... )

let me just say that working in the food industry is a horrible, horrible experience. i worked at moe's, and every day there would be a 3-4 hour lunch rush where it was non-stop work. i would have to ring people up while making pick-up orders, frying fresh chips, and keeping en eye on the grill (which could hold as many as 10 torillas). plus, almost every woman who walked in was pregant (like, about to pop preggo) and not in the best of spirits. if i acted the slightest bit frustrated, customers would roll their eyes and say something like, "oh PLEASE, you think YOU'RE job is hard?" Keep in mind I was also working at another food place, which meant i was working about 15 hours a day...almost every day. haha, fun times!

also, that does seem excessive. i've heard of murderers who get much less time, which isn't to say that child pornography isn't as heinous, but seriously...even 100 years would have cut it if you reaaally wanted to make sure that someone spent the rest of their life in jail.

i say bring back the firing squad!

Its funny. My roomates boyfriend and i were discussing and he asked me, would you rather spend the rest of your life in jail or just kill yourself/receive the death penalty.. i right away said i would just off myself, but then he made the point that many prisons these days are like going to a resort. Rehab clinics and prisons are like resorts. What the hell is that all about...

I said i would probably want to give it a chance for a year, and then later decide to just kill myself.

Its sad. I really want to know the break down of that guys sentence though. I'm just assuming that it was 10 years PER pornographic photo found. But it sounds so asinine to even say that, 200 hundred years. I just have this horrible ( but slightly funny image in my head ) of the man living for another say 50 years, and then for another 150 they just feed his skull, thats being kept on a podium in a cell, and then when 200 years is up they finally bury the damn thing.

GUH.
