Oh, thank you so much for commenting! :D Yes, there certainly will be more! I just finished revising this chapter this morning, so I don't know when chapter two will be coming, but I have started writing it. Thanks again! ^^

*brain amlfunction brain malfunction* You killed my brain! This was so incredibly amazing and I love how it's Simon's POV yet you still make the Rayne moments so hot and apparent. Wicked job.

Question: Have you posted the end of that 6 part story?...last I checked, there was only 2 parts...I'm incredibly greedy and selfish...I want you to post that and totally continue with this!!!

*laughs* Thank you so much! Brain malfunction is a high compliment, indeed. XP I had fun writing in Simon's POV, though I still feel my characterization of him is a little shaky; he's one of those characters that aren't so cut and dried when it comes to characterization, so I'm never sure how well I did.

Ahh, "Throwing Pearls to Swine". *looks sheepish* Well... no. It's not posted yet. I wrote it in a rush to finish by the end of August, and it really suffered because of that. It's basically finished, but part 3 especially is hating me and being very, very difficult as I go back and revise. You can read Part 3 here in this community, but it's not finished. I'm trying to get it done before I post the other parts. I plan to finish soon, though. Heh. I'm glad to know you like the story! :D

Well, thanks again!

Yay! Thanks so much!

I totally understand...I haven't updated R-a-y-n-e in two months...also the school year has started so there's even less times! Take your time...but not too much!!! As long as there is Rayne in some form, I will be very very happy! heh heh

Hee. Welcome!

Yes, school is EVIL - I think it's trying to kill my brain. Possibly with its brain, I haven't quantified yet. XP

I have a lot of projects in the works, so there will ALWAYS be Rayne. Heh heh. I have a smut-ish fic that comes after "Courtship" and before this one I'm working on - about Simon and Kaylee's wedding. Hee. I might go ahead and post part 4 just because part 3 is intent on not cooperating; we shall see.

Oh! Fantastic job with this! I love how Simon notices the little things that no one else is and I love the interaction between him and the rest of the crew (though please, Kaylee, give poor Simon a break...you should know by now he's not a mind reader). And that last line is just...I think I'm going to have to icon it, if you don't mind. :D

I really loved this and can't wait to read more!

Thank you so much! :D

I had such fun sort of reversing Simon's role - even though he can be a little clueless, I think that he'd watch River closely enough to be privy to most of what's going on in her life. I just love Simon (he's so pretty... heh) and I had fun writing him - ooh yes! Especially him talking to the rest of the crew! That was a blast to write. Hee.

Ooh, feel free to icon away! I don't mind at all. ^_^

Glad you liked and thanks again! I should finish part 2 pretty soon, I think.

That last line was the best.

How can everyone be so ignorant and Simon be the observant one?

Thanks for the comment! Yes, the last line is quite fun - tee hee hee.

Well, I realize it's an odd idea, but - to me, at least - it makes sense. Simon is hopeless when it comes to Kaylee, because of the embarrassment of new attachment. He's bad with most people, actually - but not River. Even though he can't always understand her, he knows her the best. The whole crew picked up on a change in River and Jayne's relationship, but given the history the two have, it seems friends is as close as they'd ever get. And Simon has the advantage of observation - he sees the signs because he's looking for them, and because he watches so much he sees things the rest of the crew wouldn't be able to simply by virtue of not being there to see it. Heh.

Anyway, sorry for the ramble and thanks again for the comment; I always appreciate it! :)

Wow what a ride you are taking us on. This is one of the best Rayne fics I've read! I love River's voice. You do so well with her oddities but still we can understand what she is saying, and so can Jayne, which is charming. I also love Simon and how he is discovering all of this. Please, please tell me you will make this a nice long story that will satisfy your readers for quite a while? There isn't much new stuff and when something like this comes along, it's addictive. Can't wait for more. Oh, I almost forgot, did you mean for Simon to say "It Fuck" at the end, or was he saying "Fuck It"? Maybe he doesn't know the particulars of proper cursing like Jayne does and that is just how it popped out of his mouth? :)Ali

Thank you so much! I'm so very flattered! *blush blush* Hee. I love writing River, so it's really fun to pick out all the weird stuff for her to say and reference. Heh - I really enjoy writing it, so I hope that contributes to the quality. Simon makes me smile. Heh.

I honestly have no idea how long this is going to be. I haven't planned it out as carefully as I generally like to do for my fics, so it's possible I'll run out of ideas and it'll be short, or I'll have lots and lots of ideas and it'll be really long. Though... Heh heh. I am planning an awesomely epic sort of fic, and that's gonna be really long and fantastical (I only have the teaser posted right now), but it'll take me awhile to write ( ... )
