Rereading Preacher makes me both like it more and like it less. It seems that Garth Ennis might've used the comic to just rant sometimes, which is fine, but it seems that it's out of character every so often. Jeremy and I got into an argument about this before. I don't think you're being a bigot. "They"- whoever they are- always say you probably shouldn't date someone who's religious or political beliefs differ from yours. It has nothing to do with being biased- it's just that common sense says it's pretty unlikely to work out long term.

Absolutely NOT bigotry - very smart of you actually. For those who are religious, it is usually a very BIG part of their life and in the long run it would negatively affect your future with them. IMO, being on the same page about religion is on the top of the list for relationship compatibility.

I've often thought about whether or not I would date someone who was "religious." Like you, I don't think I would mind dating someone who believed in god, or was spiritual. But I don't think I could ever date a Christian. I just don't agree with the religion personally, I can't understand how it can be "right." And I couldn't be with someone who's life is governed by it.

It's not weird. Spiritual beliefs are pretty major. They shape your whole world.
