Another weekend, another round of games being played with.

3DS gaming

On the 3DS, I've completed Ghost Recon as far as I can without doing the Multiplayer maps, mostly because I don't know anyone else who has the game. I quite enjoyed it, because I do like turn-based tactical squad games. For some reason it made me miss playing Vandal Hearts on my ( Read more... )

I just tried the sanctum demo as I love FPS games and tower defence but I think both are too compromised. The tower building only happens outside of the action losing that bit where you watch the points slowly rack up to the cost of that tower you desperately need. And the FPS has weightless, unsatisfying weapons.

The demo seems a bit of a difficulty spike after the tutorial. I finished with just 10% of health left and that was after building my mazes and upgrading my towers as conscientiously as I could. The design aesthetic is nice, although I feel the creature design owes a lot to Defense Grid.

Still, you have to try new things :-)

I'd imagine I'd be in the same mess if I had started out solo in the tutorial but as I had a friend to show me the ropes I reckon I've got a handle on how it works now so hopefully I won't fall down after the tutorial.

Oh, yeah, I imagine it's as fun as a barrel of monkeys with mates. The strategists can built their little death mazes and the gun bunnies can just upgrade their toys and run around blasting.

Can you build turrets on a block somebody else has placed? I can imagine the ones near the spawn point would be prime for point whoring, unless points are shared.
