The Russians aren't waiting for the results of the November election. The DOD & Pres. Bush is already downplaying the situation by claiming surprise that the Russians have a boat that can cross the ocean.
The western hemisphere is getting guests this coming November.
The U.S. media doesn't seem to care... I believe the media's desire is to report

Perhaps the Pyotr Veliky and its support ships need to meet with an accident (perhaps multiple collisions with Venezuelan "rescue" ships).
