[past] [with lancelot] not sparring, for once?

It is, apparently, a nice sunny day. And a younger Julien has decided to sit on a bench outside at the Club's castle and eat his lunch. Lancelot, he figures, will be by sooner or later.

Apparently he has no concept of calling ahead.

It doesn't take long; Julien does always seem to have impeccable timing. Lance catches the familiar mop of hair as he turns the corner from the stables and gives a slight frown in consideration before breaking into a smile. He trots toward the young Spade and is still smiling as he reaches the bench.

"Didn't expect to see you around here."

Julien offered up a wry smile and shrugged. "As good a place as any to eat. Care to join me?"

Why yes, he had brought a second sandwich, just in case. Either that, or he'd have eaten it himself.

That got a raised eyebrow, and then a mirroring shrug as Lance accepted the seat and the sandwhich. "Thank you." He relaxed back for the moment though, crossing his legs at the ankle and letting the lunch sit to the side. The Club's manse was gorgeous-- he'd grown up watching his father walk its grand halls and gardens and so many years later it still hadn't lost its luster for Lance.

"So that's all, then? Just happened to be in the neighbor with too much lunch?" Lance offered Julian a small grin. He knew Julien well enough already to know the younger man didn't easily admit attachment.

Attachment? Julien doesn't know the meaning of the word! He might have thought Lance would be amenable to a little strategic discussion. Discussing of any challenges he might care to make...he doesn't care to have with members of his own Court. But Lancelot, somehow Julien trusts the other man to stay silent.

"Precisely, Lance. Just happened by. And what have you been up to?"
