My mom spontaneously came to visit over the weekend, which was awesome, but made the weekend very busy, since I already had some other plans, including a wedding shower. Hah...what is it about moms? I can totally see mine doing that. She's already taking over my impending move, like the drill sargent that she is.

The dead snails suicided out of the bowl. The plant is most likely dying due to a combination of lack of sunlight and lack of running water. :)

I still think you might consider getting some Elodea, it is a floating hardy aquatic plant that snails totally eat up yum. Most plants marketed for aquariums are not true aquatic plants, hence the death. Maybe some air flow too?

The weird thing is that the plant at home ISN'T dead... who knows. All a mystery!
