Nothing is more squicky and gross than having your home invaded by insects. Today I came home and there were more moths fluttering in the kitchen. I was talking to toastmantom as I ambled around and the conversation went as follows:

toastmantom: Well, I should probably go, I am having dinner with Cat.

These are food moths, not clothes moths... THANK GOD... because clothing moths ate most of the contents of my closet at my mom's house in San Francisco. :( I HATE THEM!!!

oh god. those things have invaded my parents house in ATL. they are in constant battle. and we're italian. many many impenetrable plastic containers to hold our precious pasta.

still though, could be worse. could be Crane Flies.

or maybe that's just my personal phobia....

either way *fig infused vodka hugs* and i hope you kitten Chip has much fun killing the moth menaces!

AAAAA they are everywhere. My skin has left my body and crawled off to shiver in disgust somewhere. Chip is no help! He ignores the moths. :)

Mmmm I want to try that fig vodka! {hugs}

Oh, UGH. I just found the little pre-moth worms in my whole grains last week, and had to throw all of them out and clean out all the cabinets.

On the upside, I did cull out a bunch of canned goods I admitted I would never use, and made a nice donation to the local food pantry. So there was some good that came out of it!

The most disgusting were the infested items which I actually hadn't even opened myself, like this box of scone mix... I opened it to find that it was CRAWLING inside! And somehow they got into a closed glass jar filled with oatmeal. Nothing like watching your oatmeal move around. OH GOD. So fecking gross.

I empathize so much. My sister discovered wool moths in the house they bought last year and it was a nightmare. And by way of solidarity re. small disgusting creepy things, I can tell you that I discovered head lice on the daughterly offspring last week. D:

It seems it was only her who got it, and she has been treated now, and half her class has had it in the course of the past year or so, so it's gross but not as shocking as it might have felt if she'd gotten it out of the blue. But still. I have been itching like crazy for over a week just at the thought. *scratches head again*
