My morning

Apr 26, 2005 11:53

This morning, as I drove to work, I was just merging into the middle lane after the 10 East/110 interchange, when I saw what I thought was this fluttery black plastic bag being tossed out of a car in the lane to the right of the fast lane. In that moment, I watched the way it went from the car's window, hard against the ground... then up again and ( Read more... )

cats, when bad things happen

Someone else rescued it. That has to be the case. Otherwise the bag would still be there.

You should have gotten the plate of the people tossing it and reported them.

There wasn't a bag - what I thought was a bag in that first moment was actually the kitten. I just couldn't parse what I was seeing fast enough.

Ironically, I actually read license plates while I drive because of a game I play with toastmantom. But it all happened so fast, that I didn't get the chance to see what it was.

Ohhhh. Sorry.

I still would bet someone else rescued it. What kind of evil bastard throws a kitten on the FREEWAY???

I know, I can't wrap my mind around it. I mean, I know that in the country, for example, farmers drown them and stuff, but this is downtown Los Angeles, for crying out loud. :(

BASTARDS!!!!

The people who stopped to pick it up were very, very good people, as are you.

I just wanted to do something good. :( I don't know that I am a good person. I'd have killed those assholes if I had caught them.

I'd have killed those assholes if I had caught them.

If that's not the mark of a good person, I have no words.

OMFG. What is WRONG with people???????

And yes, definitely, the only rational explanation is that someone else stopped.

That's what I have to believe, because there would have been evidence to the contrary if not, as Tom wrote below. But I'm just dazed. :(

I'm pretty sure there would have been some 'evidence' if the kitten hadn't made it. Cats are wily creatures and, one way or another, it looks like this one found a way to survive.

Still, though, yuck! If you really, really don't want your pet anymore, that's what the SPCA is for! Honestly.

I really hope you're right. Now Ron the clown has told me he has 4 kittens and I don't know what to do...

WTF? What kind of horrid bloated pig of a demented sad crack smoking vicous barely sapient hogbeast would throw out a kitten like that?

Someone else saw it and got the kitten. And then someone else chased down the car and reported it before thrashing the perpetrator against the head with a rolled up newspaper.

::mad::

I'd have strangled them in a blind rage.

To give you an idea of what the freeway is like there, it's sort of like that part of 580 that smells like sewage -- lots of lanes converging, and hard to turn around without crossing other highways...
