The thing about Rapex is that it's a good idea for women who live in areas or cultures where rape is prominent and men get away with it and/or women are punished for being raped. The problem is can you guarantee that the man who gets Rapex-ed isn't going to kill/hurt the woman he's attempted to rape (more than he would otherwise, that is) because now he has a vagina dentata attached to him? Or will he be in too much pain? :P

yeah they say on their website that there is no guarantee that you won't get killed/hurt, whether you're wearing the thing or not, but that the rapist will be "disabled temporarily, (much worse than a kick in the groin that self-defence instructors teach women!) giving you time to get away and get help."

Secondly, you've got to be some kind of fatalist if you assume automatically going in that you're going to run the risk of being raped.

yeah...i would think that if you are really afraid that you're going to get raped, you probably wouldn't go to that place anyway.

I think that is pretty awesome, if anything it will make guys think twice before trying something. But if you wear in anticipation of getting raped? I dont because when do u anticipate getting raped, I suppose it would work as a precautionary thing, which I suppose is what it is supposed to do...Im rambling.

Pros: Guys think twice about raping someone! Sex would be consensual for the woman wearing it because only she knows if it is on and would have to take it off herself.

Cons: Doesnt help if a girl is drugged and a guy knows to look for it. :( Have to wear in anticpation of getting raped i.e. all the time.

Overall very good plan I think! A major step forward for women and self defense.

i think they should start advertising it a lot. i had never heard of it before this. if more people knew about it, then guys would be more afraid to rape someone. but if few people know about it, then that doesn't work.

then again, if all guys knew about it, then they might put a gun to your head and force you to take it out, then rape you. eep.
