Hey everyone! A little while ago I recced my friend a House AU that took place in ancient Rome, and she told me about a Harry Potter fic with the same premise. Now, having not read it myself, this is what I know:

-It takes place in either ancient Rome, or Greece
-They get there by time-turner
-Apparently it's got Sirius/Remus

Sound familiar to ( Read more... )

HI :)

Sorry, I can't help you with the fic set in ancient Greek/Rome.

But I might be able to rec a historical AU.

I dunno if this is what you're looking for, but it is placed in the 18-19th century...

Sorry if this doesn't suit what you were looking for...I'm not really sure of what a historical AU is :(

I'm afraid I'm on a public computer and can't search for the fic myself, but I think the one you're talking about is by melandry and takes MWPP back to ancient Rome. It's a wonderful fic--sly and funny--but I can't remember the title and don't know where it's archived. Perhaps someone else does? Maggie

This may not be the one you're looking for, but it's a great fic nevertheless: When in Rome. M.

I remember the fic, but not the title or author. Some more details, in case it helps other searchers:

Remus and Sirius went back in time to ancient Rome to do research for a project (assigned as punishment, I think). They pretend Remus is Sirius' slave, but they arrive during Saturnalia when master/slave roles are reversed. They crash a party of the guy they are researching--Ovid I think--and steal his diary. I think Sirius gets drunk.

I really want to reread this now.

Crown of Laurels by mousapelli

Rating/Warnings: PG-13 for drunken revelry
Summary: Somehow, Remus doesn't think that using a Time Turner to research Ovid is really what McGonagall had in mind by 'creative research.'
A/N: Well, you asked for Remus and Sirius' Excellent Adventure, and you got it. When whole sentences are italicized, the speaker is speaking in Latin.
