'I went gold when I see your smiling face'

Mando Diao is one of the bands that often surprise me a lot. Just when you think they’re a mundane, straight rock ‘n roll band, they’ll release something that’s beyond expectation. I was surprised when I listened to Sheepdog; I was surprised again to listen to TV and Me; and now that I’d listened to Gold and Dalarna for the very first time, again ( Read more... )

Oooh, thanks! I will keep an eye out for it. I don't know who will deliver it. Sometimes the USPS will give notices if it doesn't fit in our mailbox and sometimes they don't. Any other carrier, it's a guessing game. It's one drawback to my apartment (at my old one we always got notices).

That's funny about the ear question. I noticed a while back that if you put your hands behind your ears you can hear better and wondered why we weren't evolved to have ears like that. But I guess it's not as important for humans to hear really well like other animals do.

Well, there's several carriers for packages, but most mail goes through the governmental service, the USPS. But you can send packages through private companies like DHL or UPS or FedEx. If your package doesn't fit in the mailbox, whoever delivers your package is supposed to leave you a notice of where to pick the item up and how long it will be in that location before it's sent back. In most apartment complexes, they'll take your package in the office and the complex and/or carrier will give you a notice that you have a package. My apartment complex for some reason does not give you a notice. Sometimes if you go through companies like UPS or FedEx, they'll leave the package by your door if you're not there to answer when they deliver, but this can be frustrating if what you've ordered is expensive or something since it's more prone to being stolen (go go Americans). Mustafa once sent me flowers, and they left them on the front stoop all day, so by the time I got them when I got home, they were pretty much dead since it was so ( ... )

thanks for the lengthy explanation :)
ah well, they work basically the same way here, of course we have DHL and UPS and FedEx and other 'cargo' or 'carrier' private services. but I was confused, because I thought that if I sent the package using the regular postal service, there can be several different postal services operating in different regions in the US to the hands of which my package can fall and then... oh, never mind, my mind got so mixed up.
I mean, since I sent it 'the regular way' so I think it should be USPS that delivers it to your door... or mailbox... or whatever. gimme news when it's arrived, 'kay? :)
