Yay! I went to Otavalo today and spent lots more money! Yay! Do boys like scarves? Hmmmm, well probably not the type I bought... Which is unfortunate since I bought so many, hehehe. This evening I did a rough tally of how much I've spent this year on souvenir type stuff, and the number is kinda scary

Yeah, culture shock sucks. I definitely went through that. I think I might still be going through it a little. I feel like I never really re-adjusted. I think part of that is the fact that when I came back, I was just back. There was no big celebration, no real acknowledgment that I had ever been gone even. It was like I had been gone for the weekend. Not even. It was like they had just seen me yesterday, and now they're seeing me today, no big deal. It may have made it easier on them, but it definitely made it hell for me

Ok, so you're going to throw me a big celebration so that doesn't happen to me, right? :D We'll see how I deal with American aloneness, but it will probably help me that I do know my neighbors.
