Yay! I went to Otavalo today and spent lots more money! Yay! Do boys like scarves? Hmmmm, well probably not the type I bought... Which is unfortunate since I bought so many, hehehe. Yeah, culture shock sucks. I definitely went through that. I think I might still be going through it a little. I feel like I never really re-adjusted. I think part of that is the fact that when I came back, I was just back. There was no big celebration, no real acknowledgment that I had ever been gone even. It was like I had been gone for the weekend. Not even. It was like they had just seen me yesterday, and now they're seeing me today, no big deal. It may have made it easier on them, but it definitely made it hell for me.

Hopefully you won't have culture shock?
I don't know. I still miss England. A lot. And would move back in a heartbeat. I agree with Christina's entry, about people in America being alone. I used to be able to deal with "American" alone-ness. But I don't deal with it as well anymore. In England, it was more like a big family, where your neighbors walked by every few minutes, you would say hi to them and hang out. Here, I don't even know my neighbors' names.

Anyway, I don't think that helped at all, but...

call me THURSDAY when you get back! i have a present for you from england! wheeee! (if i can find it...i still haven't unpacked, if that's any indication of my refusal to let go...)

Ok, so you're going to throw me a big celebration so that doesn't happen to me, right? :D We'll see how I deal with American aloneness, but it will probably help me that I do know my neighbors.

YOU call ME Thursday! Or kidnap me or something. I dunno. I want to do stuff with people on Thursday!

Oh wait, I mean Friday... I get into Pittsburgh Thursday night, at like 11. So I estimate getting home at like 1am... Want me to call you then? ;)
