Dissertation Editing

A quick google search for dissertation editors returns millions of hits. Given the nature of the internet, I consider that many of these sites and their authors are not entirely reliable. I was wondering how the members of this group would recommend finding a reliable individual or company to provide general proofreading of my dissertation? By the ( Read more... )

My department keeps a list of local folks who do this kind of work. I would suggest asking them or folks who are nearing defense or deposit.

I'll heartily second that reccommendation (I'm a member of that list - many listmembers do proofreading as well as copy editing, and the ones I've been in contact with are professional and knowledgable.)

And I'd always go for a brief (a couple of pages) sample edit - so both of you know what you'll get into.
