I took it. As I conveyed to you in a personal email, it's a very flawed survey.

I took it. And yeah, the survey is flawed. But more importantly, I think you're going to get a lot of people like myself who use LJ in extremely limited ways and don't really care about what goes on behind the scenes.

I rarely post to my own journal, maybe once a year at most, and spend most of my time in communities like this in the comments section.

You might want to proofread your survey before asking people to take part... there's a question towards the end with the same option twice (it's one where I think you wanted to say "unconcerned" in one of the two instead of "concerned" twice, I can't be bothered to go back and check which question it was).

I guess it goes to show that no matter how many times you proof something, you'll still miss something... I proofed the thing about six times (over a couple of days even) and still missed that. Found it, sorry.

I took the survey... but I honestly don't really care what happens to the LJ leadership, as long as they don't suddenly start reversing the TOS and/or start charging for all accounts.

And if they do start charging, then I'm leaving. There's nothing here I can't live without.

I really need to catch up the LJ changes from the last year or so - I know there were some, but I have no idea what.

I'm sorry to be just another jerk to reply. I took your survey and the survey didn't seem flawed. I'm just curious about the point of your study. As far as social-networking venues go, LJ is pretty low key. I can't imagine anyone having passionate feelings one way or another about it (other than the whole "to blog or not to blog" debate).

Just because you don't feel passionate about it does not mean there aren't people out there who do. As with any social networking site, people use it to varying degrees. LJ has been part of my life since I was eighteen (I am now almost twenty-six), I've had a paid account for most of that, and I was quite upset last year about many of the issues certain users had with the leadership. I'd say 90% of my online interactions (excepting IM) happen on LJ. I am way more into it than Facebook, for example.
