Very nice, very Jean-Claude, always planning, every move having multiple meanings. I'm rather surprised more vampires don't play chess.

Thanks :) of all the characters in the books, JC's motives facinate me the most, I think. Protection and safety, as well as his passion for Anita... so many layers.

I love J-C's observations.

They chose not to see how he felt about Richard.

And how does J-C feel about Richard? Since I personally think Richard's a total asshole/dangerous idiot/non-introspective dweeb/etc., I hope J-C's interest is only in relation to the triumverate's power. And maybe some hot sex now and then. I like to think he's too smart for emotional involvement. JMHO *g*

I don't know about mhalachaiswords or LKH's Jean-Claude muses, but mine loves Richard. I'd like to think from the "revelation" in ID LKH's does. I know she loves Richard, or claims to.

Do you read LKH's blog? A long time ago she was talking about Richard, and of all the characters in her books, Richard was really the one she identified with the most, which I found facinating.

I haven't read her blog. I've got a Newsletter she did in '97. She said in it, "I don't understand him. I know what he'll do, but not why. Of all the major characters Richard speaks to me least." It's interesting to hear she said on her blog Richard was really the one she identified with most. I guess she's figured him out, or thinks she has.

PS I like Richard too. :)

Actually, Asher's already on record in canon as saying he'd like to seduce Richard just because Richard's both so hot and so freaking uptight. So who knows? I can see Asher even forcing down his, erm, mixed feelings towards Anita if he thought he could use her as bait to lure Richard into his bed.

*Chuckles.* Well, my fanfic is Alternate Universe from The Killing Dance on. I do have Damian and Nathaniel in my universe, but Damian is actually a Master Vampire named Rorik. "Damian" is just the name his Sire used while she was suppressing his powers. Nathaniel is his Animal. Anita didn't become Nimir-Ra after Gabriel was killed. Nathaniel had the pard.

My Richard and Jean-Claude have been close since I read at the end of TKD, "He talks to Jean-Claude more than he talks to me." It's just my Richard muse has been one of my muses that's refused to be slashy with anyone for sometime. It took that part of ID to get him to break his "absolutely no slash" rule.
