How to Save Yourself Thousands of Lives

I place the word “wrong” in quotations because we live in a universe of duality and relativity.  An example of duality is good and evil, black and white, yin and yang, etc.  One cannot exist without the other in terms of experience.  How can we know what feeling good feels like if we have never felt bad before?  How can our taste buds ( Read more... )

This reads like a spot the difference. These bits in particular i find very cumbersome in trying to resolve:

a) Every thought we have, every word we utter, every action we perform are creative behaviors. We were born to create...
b) God observes patiently as we destroy our own planet and negatively affect every life within it.

1. God is the Absolute, and there is no polarity, duality, or opposite of Him.
2. Our souls are parts of Him, and they know this deep down. Anything that derives from love is an example of this...
3. Hell is nothing more that what is derived from fear, which is the opposite of Love.

i) God doesn’t “do”, “wish”, or “will” anything in our lives.
ii) He would never have given us free will if He was going to just control it all anyway.
iii) He knows the Ultimate Outcome of our Universe, and no matter what His children do, this Outcome will never change.

So either you're a true seeker, who has become rather lost, or you're a zealot thinly disguising dogmatic thema as new age enlightenment.

I do quite like Taoism, though I'm not nearly as well-versed in it as I'd like to be. I think if I ever subscribed to something organized, it'd be Taoism. Thank you for this post.

Thanks for letting me ramble.

One book I love, (and keep by my bedside,) is; "The Tao of Pooh" by Benjamin Hoff. It's a great introduction to the world of Taoism and a fun read as well.

"The truth is simple. Bullshit is complicated."

A true taoist would never say that.

Very cool. [: It has been a long time since I've heard someone question the "status quo" which says we're all just a bunch of "biological machines", and emotions are nothing but lousy "chemical reactions" and there's nothing "inherently special" about human consciousness.

Personally, I think questioning the consensus or status quo is something that should be done more often as both have a tendency to become vastly over-inflated and over-rated. It happened with religion. It'll happen with the uprising of un-traditionalism and atheism. Mortal blade of circumstance spares no one blah, blah.

At the same time, it looks somewhat like you're attempting to formulate a means of problem solving real life issues in an abstract sense. I think you're right -- its just a matter of changing the way we think about things. Unfortunately, little did we know, changing the way we think just happens to be one of the most difficult things in the world.

Well, good luck and thanks for daring to think outside the box.
