[Tseng wasn't in the mood to face Reno either, but that had been a relatively recent development. A product of their latest exchange, which had likely been a product of the last exchange before that, and before that... Tseng couldn't recall a time when the morale and the solidarity of the Turks had been so low. He couldn't recall a time when his morale had been quite so low.]
[The seat next to Reno was vacant, and Tseng took it without acknowledgment, let alone a by-your-leave. He hesitated only briefly before ordering a cognac - one of Rufus' preferred liquours, he recalled, on nights when things were a little slower, when the stress of the job seemed to be a distant thing. And still he said nothing, leaving it to Reno to break the silence or keep it as he would.]

He can use the break. Usually trying to not die (again) took up most of his free time considering how much the city likes to screw him over. Every plan he's made to change that usually ends... badly. It was never any fault of his, just his luck. It doesn't usually stop him. But after his last effort, he's not in the mood for picking up any more overtime.
Reno sees Tseng sit down from the corner of his eye. Maybe it was out of line snapping the Director. If he wants to lecture him, he can have it. He has enough alcohol in him to tolerate almost anything right now. But when he doesn't say anything, Reno half-turns to look at him.]
Just you? ...I guess that means Elena still has Rude busy.
[Or the other way around. Probably best for him. Tseng ( ... )

Elena is on her way, I believe. But she did mention that she was busy building explosives.
[His voice is level and polite, but distant. He still hasn't figured out what he wants to do. The unity of the Turks, their ability to function as a unit is his personal responsibility as director. He feels - no, he knows that he's failed when they start falling apart like this. And for the first time in years he wishes that Veld were here. Or that he had even a fraction of Veld's charisma.]
[But perhaps that's the very point. What are Turks, in this place? There is no President. They have no orders. No common goal. They don't even have money, to keep them together.]
Perhaps we should disband.
[He says it lightly, conversationally.]

In particular, there's probably a rather grand Texas Hold 'Em game in session tonight. If your character's going to try and win big, here would be the place to do it.

Entering a poker tournament might not be keeping a low profile, but he considers it a good way to get to know people. Maybe a few who can tip him off. Although so far, most of what he's seen is a lot of unfamiliar faces. Spike never knew the city had this many people to start with. They seem local. Must have been hiding all this time.
He leans over the table, keeping a close eye on the cards as they're dealt. Winning tends to get attention, and the chips he's collecting beside him already raised some tension with the other players. He grins at the dealer just as she finishes. Even if it all turns out to be a dream, might as well enjoy it.]

still, he looks satisfied enough as he saunters through the casino, cigarette clamped in lips, suit pockets clacking with chips. he'd had a good run at the blackjack table (cardcounting was tedious but he'd had plenty of time to practice back during his cushier days) and it had grown boring -- time to look for something new to entertain himself with.
and he's leering at the slot machines, wondering if they'll be any good, when he catches sight of a familiar figure. oh hey. it's that guy, from the fight. immediately, he veers towards the poker table without a second thought, pulling out an empty seat (diagonally across from spike) and slumping across it, joining in as the new round begins ]

After the cards are in front of him, he watches the chips get thrown in. When it comes to his turn, he raises the bet to triple what it was, then he glances across the table.]
I didn't think you'd be much of a poker player.

Just start this as a general open log would be, but there will be NPC posts along the way to drop clues/hints/whatever to progress it along into some kind of mystery adventure if anyone is interested!

Suits like the one he was wearing pissed him off; stuffy and stiff. Security had been thorough with their search and made sure to remove all of his weapons. He was weaponless in a new place, and that made him more uncomfortable than his suit.
He sneered slightly as he passed Rhode and Azmeth. He recognized Rhode from somewhere, but the one she was with...they seemed more familiar than they should have. While Sasuke didn't get close to any of the others who'd landed in Nuadoria, he did pride himself in knowing most of their names and faces.
He'd find out eventually though. No need to bother them when they seemed to be going somewhere.]
