Any links to regular logs or action logs can go here if they fall under the fourth night. Also, you can start a general open log here.

In particular, there's probably a rather grand Texas Hold 'Em game in session tonight. If your character's going to try and win big, here would be the place to do it.

Links can also be anything that happens in the entertainment district or even if you happen to do a log that has your character specifically not going.

[Spike sits at one of the many tables bordering the edge of the casino. He's spent a lot of time there the past couple of nights, winning his fair share of borrowed money. Enough to keep his bar tab open, which is about all it's good for. To him, anyway.

Entering a poker tournament might not be keeping a low profile, but he considers it a good way to get to know people. Maybe a few who can tip him off. Although so far, most of what he's seen is a lot of unfamiliar faces. Spike never knew the city had this many people to start with. They seem local. Must have been hiding all this time.

He leans over the table, keeping a close eye on the cards as they're dealt. Winning tends to get attention, and the chips he's collecting beside him already raised some tension with the other players. He grins at the dealer just as she finishes. Even if it all turns out to be a dream, might as well enjoy it.]

[ it's almost impressive the way he manages to look disheveled even in a nice suit. it's probably the empty sleeve fluttering at his side and the loose tie that does it -- that and the tangles of dark flyaway hair. looking neat's never been his thing.

still, he looks satisfied enough as he saunters through the casino, cigarette clamped in lips, suit pockets clacking with chips. he'd had a good run at the blackjack table (cardcounting was tedious but he'd had plenty of time to practice back during his cushier days) and it had grown boring -- time to look for something new to entertain himself with.

and he's leering at the slot machines, wondering if they'll be any good, when he catches sight of a familiar figure. oh hey. it's that guy, from the fight. immediately, he veers towards the poker table without a second thought, pulling out an empty seat (diagonally across from spike) and slumping across it, joining in as the new round begins ]

[There's one face he doesn't expect to see. Spike doesn't say anything, but he shakes his head lightly. To think Spike had trouble getting in the first time. Maybe Namae bribed them. Should have thought of that.

After the cards are in front of him, he watches the chips get thrown in. When it comes to his turn, he raises the bet to triple what it was, then he glances across the table.]

I didn't think you'd be much of a poker player.

[ namae mostly ignores the sideways glances from the other people around the table (and the way the man seated next to him is gingerly edging away a bit) and just looks at the cards he's been dealt. not bad.

he doesn't so much as look up when spike triples the bet, but when his turn comes around, he does double it from what it was, and then quirk an eyebrow at spike, speaking in a pseudo-sweet voice that comes out more like a croon ]

didn't your mother ever tell you not to judge a book by its cover?

Maybe. We'll see if she was right.

[Spike smirks and keeps on airs of being engrossed in the game. The dealer turns over a Queen, King, and a Seven... Another turn of betting, and Spike raises again even before he looks at his cards.

Besides some mumbling, nobody else offers conversation. Serious group. He eyes Namae again, curious to see his bet.]

Have you been here long?

[ It was something of an adventure in itself, procuring the suit now neatly worn by Mukuro. Honestly, if you were to write an etiquette book on how to wear a suit, he'd be your poster boy- odds rings not withstanding.

Anyway, he's been at this table for a few minutes now (game's just started)- what's a little poker to start off the night? Mukuro surveys his hand. Workable. He looks up, interrupting the conversation to call and raise, and, oh, maybe jump into that conversation there. ]

Have you?

[Elena had never been much of a Poker player, no matter how many times Rude had tried to get her into it. Still, she was curious, and growing increasingly bored without her fellow Turks. Might as well make conversation with her fellow citizens, since her talks with the staff of the casino had been completely unproductive.]

[Poking her head in.] So who's winning?

long enough

[ queen king seven. eh, raising too much tends to discourage other people and that's not much fun. when it's his turn, he only calls, the chips piling haphazardly before him.

though he does look up to glare at the smiling motherfucker, because he recognizes that voice. little son of a bitch, exactly the type that he hates. -- still, it's a little early to get thrown out. casting only a cursory glance towards the new girl, he leans back into his seat, idly watching the other people's bets ]

[He turns to the other and grins back at him. At least some people there were friendly. He shrugs.]

Third night in a row.

[The last two were enough to give him a decent amount of playing money. He watches another Queen get turned over and tries to catch a reaction from Namae as he waits for the round to go around again. If he's able to stay in long enough, this might be slightly vindicating.

Spike looks over his shoulder at the blond woman and raises the bet.]

Game's just started.

[ Oh, don't you worry, he recognises you too. There's nothing more amusing than playing poker at the moment, however, so he'll just go on and up the stakes a little bit more as well. ]

Interesting. [ He smiles some more, for what looks like no particular reason at all, and waits for the next move. It's not like he had much money to spend in the first place, but after all that trouble he went through to acquire some-- well, it isn't as if he'll need it later on. ]

[Elena watches the game, trying to figure out how it's going, only to quickly find herself getting bored. Damn her and her short attention span. If only she more self discipline, like Tseng or Rude.]

So... Anything exciting happen yet? Anyone win big? Any patrons get kicked?

[This isn't a good idea. Ganta stands near the casino entrance, dressed in a borrowed suit, doing his best not to draw attention. He fidgets with the tie (that he still isn't sure is on right) and wonders if bolting to find a nice hole to crawl into would be better for his health. Ganta doesn't remember the casino being there before, but with the new crowds he fears that someone might be from his time and recognize him. Any minute now he expects security to arrest him for loitering or... something else. But he stays where he is, occasionally trying to catch a glance inside for Makina or the guy that Nagi described. Or the vampire. He's the one who wanted him to come there. He has to make sure nobody else dies over something he could have ( ... )

[ this probably isn't a good idea. or at least, that's what his instincts are telling him, that this is really not a wise thing to do -- but ah, well. he tries his best to ignore the nagging feeling of discomfort that lingers at the back of his mine. because it looks like the rest of the city (or, at least most of it) is enjoying this period of peace and entertainment. maybe things will be alright ( ... )

[The longer he stands there, the more time he has to think up reasons why he shouldn't be there. He should leave now, but he can't seem to make himself. Maybe he won't have to. He's been fixating on one of the more intimidating looking guards when he hears Nagi approaching.]

Nagi-san! [Quickly lowering his voice.] ...N-no, not really.

[Before he can ask if they should turn back, Nagi smiles and he eases slightly. And he does look a lot different in a suit; it's probably been a long time since he's had one. It's something Nagi deserves to enjoy. Yeah, and if they're careful, maybe they won't even run into anyone ( ... )

[ the guards seem to pay the two of them little to no attention, and the same goes for the casino's other patrons -- other than a few curious glances towards ganta, probably due to his age, they go largely ignored. well, at least they aren't drawing any bad attention.

what gets to nagi the most, though, is the wall of noise that hits him as they enter the premise. he's never really been to a casino before -- and though he'd been to a pachinko parlor with his wife back in tokyo on whim, this really wasn't something he was used to. the lights, the sounds, the smoke in the air -- he can tell it will probably all accumulate to a considerable headache later on.

but for now, he should probably enjoy the place as best as he can. when ganta looks to him, he laughs awkwardly. ]

Ah -- wait? Were you planning on meeting someone here?

[ nagi had been assuming not, but it's always a possibility, on second though. looking back to the casino floor, he notes the different areas -- the slot machines stacked in one area, poker and blackjack ( ... )
