Who: Ritsuka omoidezukuri, Kadaj revivingruin, and possibly Yazoo velveteen-shaft What: It's the start of a series of murders. And poor Ritsuka is Kadaj's first target. Where: An alley in the food//shopping area. When: Tonight.
Ritsuka knew he probably shouldn't be out so late. This was a strange place, with even stranger people, and there was no telling what some of them might be capable of. But that didn't mean he would run into any of them. Soubi had already expressed concern for Ritsuka's safety, when he had gone to eat ice cream with Shay, but nothing bad had come of that, had it? Besides, back in their own world, Soubi had gone off and made stupid choices himself before, getting beaten by the Zeroes until he had been unable to walk, while Ritsuka sat in his room unawares

It was then that Kadaj caught movement out of the corner of his eye. Something flickered. He looked in that direction, catching a shadow. There. Small, scrawny, and they wore some sort of weird hat. But that didn't matter. They would make the perfect first target
( ... )
Ritsuka gasped in shock as Kadaj appeared, seemingly from nowhere, aiming a double bladed sword directly at Ritsuka's throat. He stumbled backwards, ears flattening against his head, violet eyes wide.
"What are you talking about? What do you-" Ritsuka held his bag of groceries tighter, his voice strained in confusion. He stifled his questions, though, sense rushing back to him even as his chest clenched in fear. Logical argument would not help his case. Money. The man probably wanted money. Ritsuka would comply with his wishes, do anything as long as it meant getting out there alive.
"Aoyagi Ritsuka," he answered, his voice trembling despite his best efforts to control it.
"What do I..." Kadaj mimicked, in an ill disguised lighthearted tone. The smile had faded into a cold stare the hand with the weapon shaking and betraying his delight. An unusual name for an unusual human. It fit. No matter.
If fear could be felt, then Kadaj would have practically been drenched in Ritsuka's. Instead, he was intoxicated by the mere knowledge. His pupils narrowed, looking up and down his target, before he slowly began to approach. "Ritsuka," he murmured, almost sane for that one second while he replied. "I am called Kadaj."
With that, he lifted up his right hand into a fist, curving it straight at Ritsuka's face. "Down."
