Mom's birthday was fun. Cecily and I went over to the parents' house to celebrate, which we did. We talked for a while, had dinner, she opened her presents, and we played some games until really late actually ( Read more... )

Why do you play the piano if you hate it so much? I would think that there are much better ways for you to serve your church then cussing your way though something you admit to not being any good at? Or have I been missing something?
Anyway, glad you had a great weekend! Hope next is even better!

It's a calling I have. In other words, I was asked to take this assignment and I accepted it thinking that it would be good for me.
The cursing last week and yesterday was mainly due to the fact that my infantry had landed and I was just angry at the world in general anyway.

Playing the piano is frustrating for me but I am slowly getting better.

Oh, So you had an unwanted relative visit? LOL My dd and I refer to it as Aunt Flo visiting.
As to the piano, is there any chance you can get more practice in? Maybe during the week when no one is around? Maybe you are already, but it sounds like you are trying to cram before the performance and that never works well. Feel free to ignore me, I've spent the weekend being a mother hen to half a dozen girls and its hard to break the habit.

I do practice during the week and such. I just suck as a general rule. lol But I'm trying and that's all that counts with anyone who cares anyway.

I kind of crammed last week because I'm not sure if it was my turn to play or not (there are two of us who switch off playing). And it's not like a performance or anything. I play hymns while people sing 'em for one of the meetings. That's it. It's just not something I excel at.
