I won't lie, I think Robin Williams, under Nolan, has the potential to be fucking killer as Hugo Strange from Prey. That could be inspired casting, if I thought for a second that it'd ever actually happen.

I have a great deal of fondness for the paperback Greatest Joker Stories volume, as I still have my worn-as-hell copy which I got as a kid of ten or so. It's the book that exposed me to Five Way Revenge (in its original, superior coloring, not the redone thing Adams did), The Laughing Fish (and thus also Strange Apparitions, an all-time favorite), the Creeper story, and the Birthday issue. These are stories which have stayed with me to this day.

Conversely, I loathe the new volume. As with the Batman VS Two-Face collection (both edited by a man named Bob Joy), it's less a sampling of great stories over the era and more a sample of previews, with meaningless-outside-of-greater-context issues of The Long Halloween and Hush, included for no other reason I can imagine than to encourage people to buy the other collections. Yeah, I don't take much to those rumors myself. Now the new big rumor is that Levitt will be playing Alberto Falcone. One good thing about the PREY-rumor though is that it got a lot of people to check out PREY itself. Have you browsed e-Bay and Amazon? Copies of PREY and the LOTDK issues where it debuted are going for hundreds. Hopefully this will somehow inspire DC to put it back in print ( ... )
