The new theme this week is times when Bill and Laura have been 'obvious'. That is, their behaviour towards each other in public has pointed to a more intimate relationship. I wanted to start in the Mini (hee), but truly, I think the episode that really shows some sort of intimacy (whether that be friendship or a more romantic leaning) is Pegasus

The cut corners thing came from the Original series. All paper was shown like that in it. :) I think they just got a little lazy with this detail as time went on with the rebot.

The light on bill is coming from the lamp.
The glow on the cork screw thing is a reflection from the lamp also

It's a great arc. Talking of the original series, it was also one of the best arcs in it, and I was waiting waiting waiting for the rebot to include it and thankfully, I wasn't disappointed!
