Personally, I always saw the Olympic Carrier decision as Bill testing her. I honestly think he would have ordered its destruction himself if she hadn't, but he still wasn't sure if he could work with/rely on her. After her proving she can make the RIGHT tough call he at least tries to work with her.

Yes, I was thinking he would have probably had to have gone over her head and said blow it up if she had said no. Perhaps he didn't want to start arguing with her again already!

I think that this might have been the decision that showed him the strength of having a partner in leadership. That decision is one that had to be made quickly but it would feel much better shared than made alone. It was an experience that taught them that they could work together and make the hard calls together. I think over and over he shows us that he is very influenced by her analysis even when it goes against his feelings as in You Can't Go Home Again.

I think Bill also believed in that separation of military and government. Look at his carry on about the Marines. I think in their situation though, it got confusing what was a military decision and what wasn't!
OMGs! hello picspam! I think I just fell in love :) This is only the second picspam I've ever seen, but I think you captured Laura and Bill just perfectly! I absolutely loved your thoughts about each of these moments! again, omgs! I agree with you on the olympic carrier issue, totes! And I think bill was defo testing the waters and unsure himself. It was a huge decision. In my opinion there have not been enough laura scenes on bsg, but each and every one that she was in was profound in one way or another. It always made a difference, it always held a message

Funny that we should be talking about tumblr on the discussion post, because I think tumblr has killed the LJ picspam, and it's only graphic/tech fails like me who do it in such an old-fashioned way on LJ now.
The point of all these quotes were that she said only a couple of words, but it all meant soooo much. How MM and EJO can do such things with such minimal dialogue is beyond me.
Glad you enjoyed the pics. You might find some others on the sticky post.
