Guest Post: Henchgirl's awesome new Two-Face RPG, featuring EVERYBODY

Nov 12, 2012 20:01

So some time back, I was toying with the idea of doing a "Choose Your Own Adventure" story with Two-Face where you could flip a coin to decide where to go. I came up will all sorts of scenarios involving a full cast of rogues and supporting characters, and I even had visions of publishing it and including a coin ( Read more... )

Whoa - this looks pretty awesome! Is it going to be an online sort of thing, or a download - and if the latter, will it work on Macs?
Also, uh... crap, I am so behind on these things. Who are Captain, Al and Techie?

Not sure, although I imagine a download would have to be the way to go, considering how huge this is going to be. I don't know if the game will be playable for Macs, but since I'm a Mac owner myself, I certainly hope it will be!

Heh, those three are the stars of Henchgirl and Captain's epic and long-running fanfic series, the CATverse, about three ne'er-do-well henchgirls of the Scarecrow. :)

Ah - that would explain it. I thought it was yet another pop cultural reference that I wasn't getting.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing the finished product. Question - is this being done in some 'make your own RPG' sort of program, or does Henchgirl have some computer programming skills that she's putting to work? If the former, maybe I can try my hand at it one of these days - I actually did try to write a 'Choose Your Own Adventure' book once, though it kinda fizzled out.

Now I kinda want to see Mr. Nice, the Perfessor and Mastermind there, too.

My God. That tiny Jonathan Crane sprite is... so adorable...

SCARECROW IS ADORABLE NOTHING MAKES SENSE ANYMORE.

Feel better, Hal!

Also, he apparently keeps busy in Arkham by making gigantic blue-ribbon pies for the upcoming state fair.

Or should that be... state "fear?" (thunder, wolf howls in the distance)

I read that aloud to the girls, and they laughed their asses off. Well done. :D

We're not yet sure if the pie will be a plot point or not, but for now, the pie is just one of many "gifts" that he's been sent, possibly by his henchgirls. He assumes that they're lethal.

Don't worry, he's still his crusty self in the gameplay when you see his dialogue box. And really, is it any worse than Cillian Murphy's Sexycrow?

He's recovering nicely! Poor little huge baby was burning up, but I think the fever's finally broken. Yeah, yesterday was a fun day of Big Hefner and Baby Hefner spending several hours in the ER! Good times. But everything's cool now, especially for him, thank goodness!

It sure is! Of course, we'll see how much we can stick with it for the probable year or so it'll take to get it ready for beta testing!

That looks brilliant! Little green-faced Harvey is adorable already. Keep us posted as the project continues.

She's actually made it a point to stick with comics versions from the 70's-90's, which makes me endlessly happy. I absolutely love that we'll be playing with classic green-faced orange-and-purple Harvey here!

Good news on better news, then, an update will be coming later this week!

If you're going for the 'classic' version of the characters, that makes sense - regardless of personal preference, there have been so many continuity switcheroos and the like in recent years that it would be nigh-impossible to get some definite, coherent portrayals.

We'll also try to play around with different iterations of the characters' designs whenever possible. There might be a way to do various different takes on the Riddler in his own dungeon, but we'll have to see...
