Two-Face vs. a Werewolf. Okay, then!

Dec 15, 2010 03:39

I was all ready to finally write about the Two-Face story from Batman 80-Page Giant 2010 when I remembered that the author, Brad Desnoyer, had actually written *another* Harvey short story for another anthology: THE 2008 DC UNIVERSE HALLOWEEN SPECIAL.

You know... the story where Harvey fights a werewolf. Yeah, that one ( Read more... )

Huh. Wonder if DC will do any special Thanksgiving 80-page giants in the future.

Also, I just had a weird thought: if Mark Hamill voiced over every cartoon/film Joker ever (scripts stay the same) and Brian Bolland redrew every comics Joker story ever (again, same scripts), which stories would be improved, and which ones wouldn't?

I don't think I want to see Thanksgiving dinner in Arkham. Especially not if Zsasz is carving the turkey ( ... )

Speaking of Joker, I found this little piece by Dustin Nguyen:

AKA "What would happen if the Joker were hired to play Severus Snape?"

Was the werewolf supposed to be Anthony Lupus from Batman #255 (April 1974)?

I don't think so, as this guy is more bald and meek than Anthony, but it certainly would add another nice touch to the story if it were.

Well, I'm glad to see someone actually read some of my stories. Zsasz won't conform to your "society" and it's rules about "pants."
Yeah, I'm way more proud of the recent stories in the 80-Page Giant and the 'Tec Annual. Hopefully, you guys enjoy them. It got some decent reviews, i.e. http://www.comicvine.com/detective-comics-annual-all-the-rage-part-one-of-two-marked-woman-the-night-runner/37-248431/.
Just know how much I really do love these characters!

Just so you know, the most recent 80 Page Giant is officially my first comic book purchase. :) Looking forward to having the time to get elbow deep in it over the holidays.

I know, I know. *shame* I just walk into the comic store and get overwhelmed by the 80 kazillion Batman titles to choose from. And I don't want to be that annoying girl that doesn't know anything pestering the store clerk for his guidance. Any suggestions for someone just get started?

One of Harvey's Top Moments In Badassery! Thanks for posting this, I always love seeing a dry, deadpan Harvey ( ... )

Well, now that I've been a silent fan of Batman for a while and read as many comics as I could get hold of, I think I'm ready to step into the throng. No more lurking for me!

There are so many things I loved about this story. The sheer crack of it all, Craig the guard, Harvey's deadpan reaction to the werewolf, Calendar Man singing Silent Night while Two-Face battles the werewolf, Two killing the werewolf with just his coin... It's all good.

Although, I must admit Two's last line makes me cry whenever I read this particular story. But it's Harvey, so I wasn't too surprised. He's easily the most tragic and sad character I've ever seen that I actually like. I mean, sometimes it seems that, instead of an angst cloud hovering over his head like most really sad characters, Harvey has a freakin' wall of angst with a loose board he occasionally rips out to beat people with, then the universe nails it back in with a few reminders of how much it sucks to be him ( ... )

Don't worry about coming off as weird! We're all a little weird here! If you ever feel like de-lurking again, your comments will still be welcome! :)
