Well, not quite back to earth after the wonderfulness that was D*C, I couldn't resist choosing this moment... Let's just say I did some research. As a writer should...

Title: That Kiss
For prompt no. 6: not too hot.
Word count: 200
Rating: not an MA word in sight, no sir.

The memory of that kiss haunts her: their first, and unexpected. Could she bear it now if it were to be their last?

The tender press of his lips.

It lasted only a moment, mere seconds - three seconds - but no other encounter has meant as much these last few days: a bright memory flashing again and again like sheet lightening through the weariness, the pain, the haze of chamalla.

Such a gentle kiss.

It distracts her now, and now and now, pulling her mind back towards it, whenever she feels strong enough to work. Gods.

His lips.

She must work; in what remains of her life, she wants to do her job. And yet she must remember, fix this moment in her mind, the last intimate moment she may ever share... The heat of his gaze as he looked at her, his mouth as he drew closer, but then she’d closed her eyes. The rest she remembers as pure sensation: his mouth on hers, the strong hand gentle as he held her face, and her own heart beating faster.

For a moment, far too swiftly gone.

But this she carries still: where his lips touched her, a slowly spreading smile.
