Well, not quite back to earth after the wonderfulness that was D*C, I couldn't resist choosing this moment... Let's just say I did some research. As a writer should ( Read more... )

As it happens, I've been thinking about that kiss for a fic of my own, wondering what she thought, what her smile meant, what she carried away.

I love this little vision and will bear it in mind!

Now, as for the research...Well, every artist must make sacrifices for her art. :D

Thank you for your comment! Their first kiss has always been one of my favourite moments, so I was more than happy to do the research...

And from my own experience, I can say this: afterwards, the smile just happens. *sighs again*

Rub it in some more you hussy! Taking all the BSG men for your own. I think even my Hogan had eyes for you!

Oh no no, the Hogan is surely yours. But I'll help you... practicing with that tape.

What a lovely little look at this moment. I liked this line the best.
It distracts her now, and now and now,

Just like you huh?
Well done

Thank you! I like that repetition too - but it happened because I decided to try for a 200-word drabble and needed more words. Sometimes more is more!

And yes, just a little... My colleagues are being very patient with me. For now.

Ah-ha! Great to see this here. I seriously didn't catch that it was Laura's POV until the chamalla reference. Since it came up in my flist stream, I thought it was your D*C report! Wow, you are now-what?-one degree of separation from my favorite scene ever?!

This so well written. I particularly like: "But this she carries still: where his lips touched her, a slowly spreading smile."

Thank you! I'm just glad this prompt came up when it did... made me sit down and do something with that lovely moment. Of course Laura gets to kiss him some more...

For some reason, even though it's all romantic and sweet, this part touched me: a bright memory flashing again and again like sheet lightening through the weariness, the pain, the haze of chamalla.

I'm not sure if it's hot (hee), but it's definitely lovely, with a little sadness intermingled.

Thanks for writing!

Thanks so much for commenting! Sorry not to acknowledge sooner... RL crazy these last weeks. You're right - it doesn't really pass the hotness test, but was what needed to be written at that point.

Thanks again!
