Ok.. never feel that you should carry the pregnancy through because of punishment. That's not a good reason to have a child, and that's not a solid foundation to build a new life on.

And the father wants you to have the kid.. is he willing to pay child support? Be there for the kid? Be involved?

You're only 20, babe. Take a deep breath. You've got alot of life to live, and you gotta figure out if a baby fits in there.

You can take an early pregnancy test NOW. carifairy June 2 2007, 17:12:14 UTC

There are early pregnancy tests on the market that can be taken as early as 4-5 days BEFORE you miss a period =)

You do not have to wait 2 weeks after, unless you do not buy an early test.

They are not terrible expensive either!

The pregnancy hormone can remain in the body for up to a month after an abortion or a miscarriage. If you take an early test, it may be positive from the hormones left in the body after the abortion. If it comes back negative, retest when your period is due. If it comes back positive, you'd need to get serial blood pregnancy tests (Quantitative Beta HCG) to see if the levels are increasing. In a viable pregnancy, they should double (roughly) every 48 hours. If it doesn't, or the blood test comes back negative, then you are not pregnant (Quantitative blood test is more accurate than urine tests).

Don't panic yet - it's too early to say whether you're pregnant or not. As commenters above have mentioned, though, over-the-counter pregnancy tests are often accurate the day after you miss a period (First Response is 99% accurate at that point), and all brands are 99% accurate a week after your missed period. So a two week wait for an answer is excessive.

i'm praying that i'm not, but if i am i just dont know what i would do, seeing as the dad really wants me to keep it... He may want you to keep it, but it is your body and your life at issue, not his. Therefore, the decision is entirely yours ( ... )

how is this not the reverse of what I said? Anyway... I understand the point, but I'm leaving the community.

BTW, I don't think I would be a good parent, but I'm much more annoyed with everyone telling me that I would be a good parent (which they often do).

So long as you abide by the safe space rules, whether you stay or go is entirely up to you. I don't really know why you felt the need to inform me one way or the other. I'm not going to feel badly about telling you not to judge women on this community or call them names.

how is this not the reverse of what I said?

I'm not sure what you mean. It's prohibited here to call a person irresponsible for their sexual decisions. I never called the OP irresponsible (or any other name). I told her that any choice she makes is valid and pointed her towards decision-making resources. voila.

Hey, I am interested in info about what you decided to do. I will be 20 in a week. I had a medication abortion last November, and whup de do I didn't learn either, here I am, pregnant again. I have tried to succeed w/ herbal abortion over the past week and nothing is happening yet. My boyfriend has changed his mind from supporting me to telling me that he will resent me if I "kill his kid".
I don't think it's a good idea to have the baby after taking these various herbs for a week, either... ahh!
Any thoughts?
What did you decide to do?
