Class-change! [Voice] [Action]

It's been a really long time since I became an archer, but I think I like swordsmanship better. It lets me get a lot closer, and now I can defend myself if I get attacked! Isn't that great, Jaffar? Now no one has to worry about me!

Adell, Nino, you've got to see this! I think I'm getting pretty good!

[Very true to her word, Rebecca is out and about ( Read more... )

If you're looking to use a sword, Rebecca, you should get proper training. I'd offer my services, but I'm afraid I'm just a little busy at the moment.

Don't worry, Lyn! I'm doing fine. I'm copying what I've seen you guys do!

Can you be any more specific? Who's fighting style are you trying to emulate?

Why, Isadora's, of course! My sword is a lot smaller than hers, but she's the fairest knight in Pherae.

All right. I'm heading out there to meet you. But the change is pretty sudden...

It'll be a lot easier sparring with a sword, won't it?

Well, yeah. It means you can actually stop your opponent if they draw too close. But you really didn't sound like you had much interest in melee combat before.

Well, this is a lot better, don't you think? Archery is still fun and all, but I should be able to do both! Being a swordsman is a lot more cool, anyways.

[She's mostly just playing with it. Thrusting, slashing at random objects. Occasionally, she looks like she's going to fall over, but she has a good sense of balance, luckily.]

Yaaaaah!

Huh? Oh...you're...Ted, right? Yes, I'm having fun. I-I mean, it's work. I've got to train, but I'm enjoying it.

I am certain... you can excel.

Really? That means a lot to me, Jaffar. I wouldn't want to hold anyone back if there was trouble.

You hold... no one back, Rebecca.

...E-eh? You're using a sword, Rebecca? It's not too heavy? I helped uncle Merlinus carry things around, a few times. I could barely lift some of them!

I found a slim sword in the shops, Nino. It's not heavy at all!

A slim sword? Oh, these are alright, yeah. I can carry one the whole way without getting tired. [She nods, more reassured now. ...Though that's really not saying much, Nino. :|;]

I'm not sure I can tell you if you're doing good, though. My brothers were both very good with the sword, but I never saw how they were when then first started. So I can't tell you if you're doing okay for a beginner... Sorry. Have you tried asking lady Lyn and Jaffar? They would know, but I think their styles are still different than yours.

Well, I know they're all strong swordsmen, but I'm trying to use a sword like Isadora. She's the fairest knight in Pherae. I'll have to find a horse soon, hmm?

What have you been doing lately, Nino?
