Wow, the cliff thing. I think bruises, bite marks, broken vases and holes in walls add a touch of flair to a break-up. My break-up advice: have a friend there to videotape it, make it a day-long event. And then start a rebound fling ASAP (if you haven't already...) That way you can have another break-up to look forward to. Multiple Break-ups, really, is where it's at.
Rebound- the only word my friends can use 7 times in a setence without really thinking about itablackbowlerhatAugust 31 2005, 05:16:43 UTC
Yeah, the cliff thing was at a wedding that i was supposed to go to with my ex, so it was that much more fun. i feel like the rebound sexcapade or relationship should in some quirky way trump 1) the last rebound and 2) the end of the relationship. it makes life interesting, and has the added bonus of keeping your friends from getting all uppity about your lack of new stories to tell at house parties, due to the fact that you were in a relationship for six months or however long.
as for stellar break ups, i had a break up once where 1) neither of us were in love with the other, and 2) we were both cheating with people we thought we were in love with. We basically chatted the whole time about our new relationships. that was pretty stellar, but 75% of the relationship was one big sexcapade, and the other 25% was coffee hour. So... i dunno if i would say it really counts.

I've never heard of a stellar break-up.
