a dinner of substitutes

Tonight for dinner I made Turkey Kibbeh from Eating Well magazine. The yogurt sauce was a problem, so instead I made the creamy dill dressing recipe from the Garden of Vegan and added cucumbers and tomato. Erik wasn't impressed but I liked it. He liked the turkey kibbeh, just not the sauce. Niels liked the sauce without the vegetables before dinner ( Read more... )

Especially the part about the turkey (though I've sworn off turkey)and the cookies ;)

Why have you sworn of turkey? I think the dish is traditionally made with lamb, so you could try that if you can find ground lamb.

The creamy dill is yummy. I'm going to make it for a veggie platter for Niels' birthday too, I think.
