I finished the the top down Crayon sweater for my friend's son. It looks very wide to me. I need to wash it and see if that changes the fit at all. I think it will be wearable, it just might be a tad on the wide side.
It's a bunting. I couldn't find a picture from the pattern online. It's like a baby bag with a hood and sleeves. It zips up the front. It's for putting the baby in when it's cold outside. :)
I think you can reverse the starting row..spinnitySeptember 4 2005, 20:01:20 UTC
Hi Abigail.. I think you could make the first row of the other side a purl row instead of a knit (depending on what you did for the first front.. ) and then you'd do a purl & a knit for each color stripe, instead of a knit and a purl. Then the stripes would match. If you end up with a extra row @ the bottom or one too few, you can take the excess into the bottom seam & no one will know.
I might mix techniques for the ends.. pick a couple colors to carry (maybe light blue & green) and then weave the other ends however you like. You could knit a couple in as you go & weave a couple into the seams later. That way you don't end up with any noticable patterns of end weaving, like every color having a bunchy first 10 stitches.
I knit a Debby Bliss fair isle baby sweater in 1990 or so.. and cut all the ends. I was sorry later.

No, not really. But then, I often hide my ends in the seams. That's what I did on the striped Cotton Candy sweater (only 2 colors.. mostly carried the yarn up the side, but all ends were at row ends.)

You don't think leaving them to weave in the seams will make the seaming more difficult?
