crocheting like crazy

I have been neglectful of my blog... again. Sorry about that... again. In June a friend from my knitting group passed away from breast cancer. Her daughter saw on our group's email list that we were having a yarn swap in the summer and asked if she could bring her mother's yarn for us to divide up. I didn't end up getting the yarn from her until ( Read more... )

So nice! I love the divine hat too! Everett wanted one and ended up with 2 because the dog got the first one and chewed a hole in it. The second one went much faster than the first! I haven't made a potato chip scarf, but the lacy one I made out of that free ball of Carron yarn is similar, but more open. Have fun making stuff! I've had to stop while my thumb and wrist heal :(

I really like that divine hat pattern. I might make one for myself at some point, out of my own yarn. I think it would be cool in a multi-colored yarn too.

Ugh. Sorry about your thumb and wrist. :(

It's ok :) I have so much other stuff to do, like finish getting moved out of my other house, that yarn really should take a back seat! I want to see your divine hat done in something non-wooly. Everett's hat is so hot as to be nearly unwearable down here!

I'd probably do it in something like All Seasons Cotton or Cotton-Ease. Basically something cotton acrylic. I'm tempted to do it in a thinner yarn too, since I think you could just keep increasing to make it big enough. So then maybe it'd be nice in a cotton/acrylic sock yarn like kollage luscious or even cascade fixation. So many ideas! :)

Wow. What a perfect way to use your friend's yarn. Everything looks so nice and I'm sure it will all be appreciated.

Thanks! I hope it will be appreciated. I also think my friend's daughter likes that her yarn is going to this purpose. I am looking forward to getting all of the stuff together for one big photograph. I think that will be cool.
