well, it only took an entire year - in bits and pieces mostly due to the absurdity that is the commonwealth of PA - and our car is FINALLY legal in the state of Virginia. i guess i should start trying to accept that this is my *home* now or something. the Radford Powers That Be told J that it's about 95% certain that his position will become tenure

you know, this place isn't bad, really. i just still can't see myself "settling" here, living here for a really long time. a lot of it has to do with the girls - this isn't really the kind of place where i would like to raise them. i can make it work from my perspective, since i have to, but i'm just not comfortable with the idea that they'll grow up here, that this environment is what they'll know.

I know what you mean. There were jobs I didn't even apply for because I didn't want E & C to live in those places.
