[Madsen's taken to an unoccupied area on the rooftops, wearing a long-sleeved shirt, jeans, and boots as she swings something around in what would be thought of as akin to sword kata, but the movements are sloppy, lacking their usual grace.

Probably doesn't help that she keeps reflexively sheathing and unsheathing her weapon, which probably wouldn't

[ The form was kind of cool to watch, gracelessness aside, and he just assumes she's another kind of military type. They've been getting a lot of those in. His voice comes out off-hand, monotone, repeating back useful information. ]

I don't know where you can find a sword, but you seem to have an elegant form. Could you use a length of wood? I found some hardwood closet rods in one of the shops.

Ah, thanks. Glad to know I haven't lost my touch, at least. Just doesn't feel right with a crowbar.

[Though at the mention of wood, she laughs, a hand at her face.]

Of course, why didn't I think of that sooner - find some tape for a grip, a knife to carve it, could at least make a decent bokken out of it.

I don't imagine it would. [Smile.] The sword's not my preferred weapon, but I've watched others practice their forms.

I'm sure you can find the wood in the shops near the Square. And, stockrooms for tape or utility knives. Or, cafe kitchens have knives. I know I've got scissors, tape and a tiny extending blade at my shop. [It's a box cutter.]
