[Deuce hears his reply, turning the phone over just in time to see the end of the video. Nervousness and excitement have her fingers fumbling over the buttons until she hits one. And surprise, this time it's the right one. She smiles tentatively.]

I wasn't sure I was using this properly. I think I'm starting to figure it out, though. I've never seen anything like this before.

[She pauses, trying to pick a place to start with.]

Do you know where we are? I know this is Topside, but it looks so different from the city I was in before.

[She laughs lightly.] Where I'm from, we used to call these relics. The Wordkeeper had one. I never thought I'd see a working one.

Do you know why it's so quiet up here? There aren't even animals around...

[She shrugs.] This whole area is Topside. I'm from an underground Enclave. I only first saw all of this a few months ago.

I'm not used to these things actually working. I've seen a few before but they were nonfunctional.

There is a lot I will be learning about here, I'm afraid. Even our lights weren't as efficient as these. The Enclave was always filled with smoke.

Things were so much simpler in my Enclave. [She frowns.] I haven't decided if that is a good thing or not. [There's a large part of her that is glad she can think her own thoughts and knows a bit more truth about the world. But it's frightening and overbearing to have to learn so much suddenly.]

Not a working one. The ones I've seen have been in pieces or just had a black front to them.

[All the crazy timelines and advancements and...not advancements. They can learn together \o/]

None that have worked. I've seen something similar, but it was merely shiny and black. There seems to be many different abilities all crammed into this somehow. I don't understand how it can all fit.

Are you familiar with them?
