[Cauterizing her wound must have helped more than she thought it did. She remembers the fiery burn of fever as infection plagued her body. She hadn't known if she'd make it. Now, her wounds are nearly healed. Only a faint twinge of discomfort lingers where piercing pain once reined.
At first, she wasn't sure she had survived her ordeal. Waking up in a place for dead bodies had jolted her. She wasn't familiar with any of the men she'd found herself down there with. Outside the building, the sky still was too big, too high, too…everything.
A mumbled apology to her companions, she dashed off and found a quiet place to hide. It was eerily silent Topside. She didn't think it was the same one she had known. Without Fade, she wasn't sure what any of it was. She's spent time in hiding to adjust to all of it. The odd relic fed her with tidbits from other people. It was all too much, too fast and she didn't remember most of it. But after all that time, she's ready to explore and find out what it's like up here.
After all, it's clear Fade isn't coming to help her. Not like back in the Enclave. This time, she is on her own. She's found a small house, abandoned and unmarked. Only occasionally has she gone out for supplies. She's been on her own for weeks now, lonely and scared.
Through trial, error, luck, and much fumbling, she manages to get a signal to send. The video is upside down and pointed at the ground, but it's working.]
