[He'd been asleep. At least, he was certain he'd been asleep, sometimes it was hard to tell but he was fairly certain he'd been asleep when the dream hit him. These dreams, crushing weight and the sensation of falling, were no strangers to Charles Xavier, he'd lived with them all his life. A side effect of his mutation and the constant press of voices in his mind. Normally he ignored the dreams or simply woke himself up if they became too oppressive but tonight, tonight was different.

Tonight he couldn't wake up and as he tumbled the voices became muffled in his ears, as if his telepathy was suddenly shoved under water. It was a darkly uncomfortable sensation and he began to struggle, began to demand his mind to wake but it was wrong, it was all so wrong.]

[It was instinct to call for her, instinct to shout her name but through the cotton wool around his telepathy he heard nothing but garbled, distant noises. He fought harder, slowly becoming aware of the cold. He should not be cold, he'd put a fire in the

[Christine stayed where she was beside the table, not wanting to crowd Charles. But she was a compassionate person and she knew that being locked in that freezer had to be terrible. The body bag had been bad enough.]

Charles. How about we get out of here and get some clothes?

[Morgues weren't anything new to the nurse, but she guessed he didn't want to stick around in a place he'd just suffered a trauma. Kurt she wasn't sure about. He seemed pretty level headed about the whole thing.]

[Kurt was only level headed because in this kind of situation, he found himself taking a leader role. Even though he was sure it wasn't needed, keeping himself busy by thinking as a leader, was distracting him from wondering about other things. That and, well these kind of things weren't exactly unknown. Different all the time, but Kurt had come into a life where it was almost the norm. Or he jokingly thought so.

When Charles said his name, his body tensed and his mind went into a frenzy. Thinking of Professor Xavier in a wheel chair, no hair, walking, a wheel chair, his X-Men, the man who had saved him. He missed Charles, missed him so much. He shook his head and forced the thoughts down, focussing on now. Now was more important. A deep calming breath and Kurt exhaled and then smiled.]

Nice to meet you Charles, Christine.

[Kurt noticed Charles looking at the tail and smiled as he moved it, bringing it up higher and waving it behind him over his shoulder. He got to his feet and held his hand out for the man and looked to

Unbidden Charles felt his mind begin to spin on the idea of such a mutation, the genetic implications, how it would come about and so many different questions. For the moment the scientific implications of that wiggling tail chased away the horrors of where he'd woken up and what was happening all around him.

His blue eyes followed the waving tail, gradually coming to rest of the man's hand and oh weren't they splendid! Tilting his head curiously, he reached to take the offered hand, slowly getting up, the backless hospital gown sliding off one slim shoulder.

As he grabbed quickly for his dignity gown, Charles looked warily between the two of them but nodded his agreement.]

Some proper clothing, would be most welcome I agree.

Ok, great.

[She gave both a smile and then maneuvered a hand back to keep her paper gown closed before moving sideways to the door, not sure what she'd find on the other side.]

I don't know about you two, but I'm not much of a fighter, and I dunno what we'll find on the other side of this door.

[Kurt helped Charles to his feet, noticing how he had been looking at his tail and then his hand. He was smiling and promised in his mind that Charles could ask whatever he wanted once they got to a better part, if there was any better parts.

He moved his tail to grip the gown at the back and keep it closed as he walked back over to the door and then looked to Christine.]

I'll take the front then just in case there's any danger out there. Not exactly a stranger to fighting.

[Charles didn't bother with closing the back of his gown. Sorry guys. Good news is, he stayed back from the other two, eyes going a bit unfocused for a moment before he spoke quietly.]

There is nothing on the other side. The corridor is completely empty.

[Christine looked between the two men thoughtfully. It was clear that Charles had some sort of mental powers since he'd hurt their heads so severely, and she wondered if he wasn't human. It was a bit unnerving, the power he had, but she didn't think she should necessarily worry, as they were all in the same boat here.]

Good, that's good. I don't know where exactly to find clothes, but if this is an actual hospital, there has to be storage closets for patient gowns and scrubs for the medical personnel. It's a start, anyway.

[Ah, he missed being around a telepath in some ways. Just how they could take away some concerns. Though he wouldn't rely on Charles and what he could do, there were people who were shielded from mental probing. Kurt opened the door leading into the hallway and...well yes, it was empty. He looked back between them.]

It would be better than this anyway. Hey, did either of you happen to wake up with a phone?

[Blinking, bemusedly at the question, Charles remembered something sliding off his chest when he'd bolted out of the morgue freezer. Turning he retraced his steps until he found it, skittered beneath the autopsy table. Picking it up, he peered curiously at the thing and then held it up for the other two to see.]

[As Charles did that, Christine too moved back to where she'd left her phone on the table.]

I had one on me too.

[She looked it over, then hit a button, turning on the screen.]

Strange. Why would we be given these?

Yeah, that. [He frowns and looks at his own that he'd picked up on his way to the door that totally happened by the way.]

No idea, I know it's not mine, I never had a phone like this.
