AAR and... Taylor Swift?

Mar 25, 2013 01:06

OK, so this is old news, guys, because we've been terrible at updating and keeping on top of shit. (Because AAR haven't been touring in the UK, I have naturally been thrown into a pit of despair, and spent the last six months lying in bed being TERRIBLY DEPRESSED. Trufax.)

Anyway, quite a while ago, this happened:

See, their version of the song is MUCH better. Any version of Taylor Swift's song not performed by her is better. *coughcough*hypocriteyoulistentoheranyway*coughcough*

And yeah, I had heard about Taylor and Tyson dating, but then I laughed it off because I swear the paparazzi just like shipping her with various random celebrities. They're worse than Tumblr. But then again, the idea of Tyson getting teased mercilessly by the rest of the band amuses me greatly, so I like to think that maybe they made out in a cupboard or something. It could be true. She talks about a door, and cupboards have those right? :P (and now that you mention it, the guy in the music video for Trouble sort of does look in Tyson - in a vagabond type of way *ponders*)

*watches Taylor Swift video*

What the hell Taylor? Random techno? What? Yeah, okay, crazy guys dancing around you, but weird insert of techno? What?

Also, have you see the goat version of this song?

Breaking into your comment to say that 'Goats that Sound Like People' has taken over my house. This had all three of us wheezing on the floor.

It's the end of term. We're all very tired. That is my excuse. Yes.

It's been two days since you apprised me of this, and I still can't wrap my head around it. It just does not compute; like trying to fit a circle and a square together. But then, they're consenting adults, so good for them (or... not... good... seeing as it didn't work out? help? o.o?). And any publicity is good publicity, I guess.

Ahahaha, I imagine that provided a lot of comedy gold for the others.

Verdict on Mean: having listened to both AAR's version and the original one, I can say it's the song I have problems with, not the people playing it. On the other hand, Trouble I like! Perhaps it's time to revisit Taylor Swift!

Good for them? IDK, Taylor Swift is only occasionally on my radar, so I'm kind of lukewarm on it. 'Mean' is my favourite of her songs, and I absolutely LOVE this version of it. :D

(Also that second video... all I could think is that that white dress looks very similar to the (IMHO, hideous) styles of the 1590s. Sorry, guys, I'm going to go and curl up in a corner with my inner history geek so that I don't get in the way of the squee now! :D)
