AAR and... Taylor Swift?

Mar 25, 2013 01:06

OK, so this is old news, guys, because we've been terrible at updating and keeping on top of shit. (Because AAR haven't been touring in the UK, I have naturally been thrown into a pit of despair, and spent the last six months lying in bed being TERRIBLY DEPRESSED. Trufax.)

Anyway, quite a while ago, this happened:

xrysomou and I are in a dispute (read: she's less obsessive than me about this) as to whether this is a good song, but I really enjoyed their version of it! Possibly, I have a faintly Pavlovian angst-o-meter response to Tyson singing "One day I'll be big enough that you can't hit me", but that's my own issue. (The picture on that ain't great, but the audio's just fine, jsyk.)

Yeah, so, according to various uncorroborated internet articles, Tyson and T-Swizzle were a thing.

"Taylor Swift really likes dating musicians! Not only has the country cutie gotten her claws into Harry Styles, Joe Jonas, and John Mayer, she allegedly dated the All American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter. Taylor, 23, and Tyson, 28, reportedly began dating in December 2011, but, like the rest of her relationships, it ended up in the toilet. Apparently Taylor scared Tyson off because she was too intense, which is exactly what ended her romance with Harry." (source)

Which, you know, they're both consenting adults and what they do is their business, and it's sad that it didn't work out for them (and equally sad, of course, that people like me have nothing better to do than write lj posts about it). And at the same time - what?! I don't know whether to hope that this is total bollocks or whether to laugh my arse off - both are looking like tempting options. Then again, of course, very little publicity is bad publicity, so yay Tyson? (On a side-note, that article is hilarious for not being able to decide whose side they're on. Also, "gotten her claws into"? Really? C'mon guys, that's just catty. (If you'll pardon the pun...))

The most pressing question, of course, is... if this is true, how much stick did he get from the rest of his band about it? :D

Apparently, Tyson was of the opinion that Taylor Swift's song, "I Knew You Were Trouble", is about him, which makes it infinitely funnier. It's a good song, though - or at least, I think so, though I live with my brother, so I'm very used to hearing that my taste in music is for shit. Check it out:

(This is her performing it at the Brit awards, because the video has a whole load of extraneous nonsense in it. Also, of course, the video is only here because it might be about Tyson - this is not a Taylor Swift comm! (Though, yes, I like her stuff. Sue me. :D))

So, thoughts?

Sources for this story can be found here and here, as well as the article linked above, but none of them say much more than the first one.
