A potential contact and outlet for you, Roger...

Among my FB contacts is a fellow named Lee Lewis. We had a mild association/acquaintance with each other back in the day through Trek fandom. Turns out he is part Cherokee and is doing small things to help promote the language as well (ie: flash cards, translations of pop culture items, etc). You might want to give him a "Hello" and see what happens.

One thing I was pleasantly surprised by when I picked up Irish again was how robust the Irish blogosphere seems to be. There are a number of fluent speakers who blog interesting content on a frequent basis--so many I find I can't keep up. That's a much lower barrier to entry than a book or a song contest.

I'll agree to that, but that's also the thing: I never even see BLOGS in Cherokee.

That's rather my point. If you can't even get people to use a little Cherokee on the Internet, then I think a song contest is going to be a tough sell.

But then one has to wonder: what catalyst DOES it take, for people to start actively using a language?
