Sounds like some of the guys I worked with in my old job. I'm sure he felt much more secure in his masculinity for putting you down. Point out that you know someone who likes to watch it and outer sports for the sexy men. If he doubts you show him my journal.

This reminds me of a story a friend of mine told me. He used to teach a class on popular culture at a local university and since it is a lower level class, he gets a lot of immature buttheads in attendance.

In his class after some big football night, he asked how many of his students were watching football the night before. The buttheads were pumping their fists and cheering on. One of them asked what my friend was doing the night before. He said that he was watching ice skating championship. They started to snicker. Well, he said, I am much more drawn to and appreciative of beautiful women in tight outfits than sweaty men in skin tight gear. I am not a homophobe, but football is just not my thing.

He said the silence was almost palpable.
